- There is a discussion with the client about where the portrait will hang, and the size, composition, clothing and mood of the portrait desired.
- Photographs may be taken or sittings requested. When working from client's photographs, the photos need to have the heads with at least a 2" diameter. It is best to have photographs professionally taken, so as to have good shadows.
- When painting a posthumous portrait, it is best to review all the photos available. Bill can paint a full color portrait from a black and white photo.
- When details are agreed upon, a contract is signed that Bill will paint the portrait, and a 33% deposit is required.
- Delivery of the portrait will be in approximately six months at this time. The balance is due upon acceptance of the completed portrait by the client. Applicable sales tax will be added to the agreed on commission price.
- The cost of the frame is not included in the commission price, but if the client desires Bill to frame the portrait, it can be arranged.
- The cost of travel will be the responsibility of the client and will be added to the price of the portrait.
